Hammondville Medical Centre: No threat declared after 75 people evacuated after white powder found in parcels

About 75 people have been evacuated from a medical centre in southwest Sydney after a handful of people came in contact with a white powder substance.

About 75 people have been evacuated from a medical centre in southwest Sydney after a handful of people came in contact with a white powder substance.

NSW Police responded to reports about 2.30pm after roughly 75 people were evacuated from Hammondville Medical Centre with officers taking all precautions and later declaring there was no threat to the community.

Police were joined by Fire and Rescue NSW however have since left the scene.

It is understood five people came into contact with a white powder substance which came from two parcels.

Police and Fire and Rescue NSW crews blocked off the area to investigate.
