A bikie’s home has been targeted after a gunman opened fire in Sydney’s southwest last night, in the latest shooting in recent weeks.
Police and emergency services were called to the home on Carnelian Street, Leppington about 9.45pm on last night following reports of multiple shots fired.
A Mitsubishi Lancer parked outside Shayan Jaberiyanfar’s home on Carnelian St in Leppington was shot multiple times about 9.45pm.
On arrival, police had also found a number of shots were fired at the front of the home.
Three adults – two men and a woman – were in the house at the time; however, there have been no reports of injuries.
Police sources said Jaberiyanfar had long been linked to outlaw motorcycle gangs and was known to move between clubs.
Neighbours were rocked by the incident.
One mother, who did not wish to be named, spoke of how she was putting her young children to bed as the chaos exploded outside her front door.
“It is the only house in the area (where this happens),” she said.
Media crews are now camped outside the home at the centre of the shooting, which neighbours say was involved in a gun-related incident in December.
The Daily Telegraph has been told there has been limited activity at the address in recent months but had spiked before the overnight incident.
A NSW Police spokesman said officers were told a white van was seen driving nearby in a southerly direction around the time of the shooting.
“Initial inquiries have led police to believe the incident was targeted,” a police spokesman said.
Neighbours took to local community groups on Facebook to describe the shooting.
“OMG the cops are going insane,” one neighbour posted.
“So scary... I have two kids and being a neighbour to that house is terrifying,” another wrote.
Investigations into the incident continue and anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Camden Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
It follows a shooting in the same street on December 29 last year which resulted in a 28-year-old man suffering three gunshot wounds to his leg.
It is unclear if the two incidents are related.
Police believed the December shooting was a targeted attack and found a black BMW SUV burnt-out in Casula and a white Subaru burnt-out in Strathfield a short time later. The December incident was also probed at the time for possible bikie links.
