Avinash Pandey: Edmondson Park fatal motorbike crash accused before court

A man accused of causing the death of a young motorcyclist when after allegedly failing to give way and crashed into him has been identified for the first time.

A man accused of being responsible for the death of a young motorcyclist in southwest Sydney after allegedly failing to give way has been identified for the first time.

Avinash Pandey, 39, was charged with negligent driving occasioning death less than 24 hours after the fatal accident in May.

Police allege the Edmondson Park man failed to give way to a Honda CBR motorcycle, driven by 24-year-old Jack Mclean, when he merged onto Soldiers Parade as he left Edmondson Park train station.

The deadly collision took place shortly after noon on Saturday, May 9.

Pandey’s charges were mentioned at Liverpool Local Court for the first time on Monday.

The matter was adjourned for the brief of evidence to be served on the Edmondson Park’s legal team, and will return to court on August 24.
