Students at All Saints schools in Liverpool will enter a new era next year when the separate entities merge to become one college.
All Saints Catholic Primary School, All Saints Catholic College and All Saints Catholic Senior College will combine to form All Saints Catholic College K-12 with a dual campus in Liverpool and Casula.
Students and teachers, past and present, recently gathered at the primary school for a final mass celebrating its history, which dates back to 1827 when a group of Catholic parents in Liverpool first established the school.
Principal Christine Scanlon said it was the end of an era and the beginning of a new one.
The schools will merge due to a “desire to provide a more connected Catholic school community with strong alignment with the parish”, she said.
“During the community consultations it was clear that in the minds of the community we were already one,” Ms Scanlon said.
“Formalising it as one community, K-12, was about future proofing the community.”
And while some things will change, the spirit of the school community will not.
“In future our uniforms may change and our crest may differ, but the heart of All Saints will remain the same, as it has through past changes,” Ms Scanlon said.
“If anything, our unification will enable this heart to beat stronger and to have even more of an impact.”
