Fresh charges have been laid against a Moorebank car salesman who police allege was behind the wheel of a Mercedes travelling well in excess of the 100km/h speed limit on the M5 motorway earlier this year.

Police claim between January and March, Ali Elskaf sped along the motorway at close to 200km/h on two occasions and 211km/h on the third.

On January 4, it is alleged he was behind the wheel of a white Mercedes Benz travelling at 155km/h in a signposted 80km/h roadwork zone on the M5 motorway at Beverly Hills.

The next day, police allege Mr Elskaf was driving the same car as it hurtled along the M5 motorway near Moorebank and accelerated to a speed of 189km/h in a 100km/h zone, despite the motorway being closed during a bushfire.

The third incident allegedly occurred on March 18, also on the M5 motorway at Moorebank, with police alleging he was the driver of a silver Mercedes travelling at 211km/h in a 100km/h zone.

Police also claim videos of the alleged speeding offences were uploaded to Instagram, which Mr Elskaf has since been banned from using under his bail conditions.

The 36-year-old has pleaded not guilty to three counts of drive recklessly/furiously or speed/manner dangerous and three counts of Class A motor vehicle exceed speed over 45 km/h (estimated).

The matter was adjourned to June 3. Picture: Facebook

Mr Elskaf did not appear in Liverpool Local Court today, where it was revealed he is facing further charges of drive recklessly/furiously or speed/manner dangerous and Class A motor vehicle exceed speed over 45km/h (estimated).

According to court documents, the fresh charges relate to an incident where the car salesman allegedly drove an Audi “at a speed dangerous to the public” on the M5 motorway at Milperra on the night of March 11.

A plea has not been entered for the new charges and the matter was adjourned to June 3.

Mr Elskaf has previously made headlines after NSW Police was forced to pay his legal costs after dropping charges of riot and affray against him in 2005.

Police had accused him of being part of a mob which attacked police and ambulance officers at Brighton-Le-Sands on December 11, 2005 in revenge attacks after the Cronulla riots.

The charges were later dropped due to a lack of evidence and NSW Police was ordered to cover his $5500 legal bill.
