Abdullah Kammoun: Carnes Hill former police officer charged with drug supply

A former police officer has been hit with fresh drug supply charges following a strike force investigation into an alleged cannabis dial-a-dealer syndicate in Sydney’s southwest.

A former police officer has been hit with fresh drug supply charges following a strike force investigation into an alleged cannabis dial-a-dealer syndicate in Sydney’s southwest.

Abdullah Kammoun, 33, of Carnes Hill, was arrested in August following raids on properties in Lurnea, Carnes Hill, Liverpool and Busby where police seized electronic devices, 4.6kg of cannabis, $50,000 in cash, vehicles and an electronic stun device.

Four others were charged as part of the investigation including three men – aged 27, 32 and 42 – and a 58-year-old woman.

Following further inquiries, officers attached to the strike force attended a correctional facility in Silverwater on Thursday and charged Kammoun with three counts of supply indictable quantity of prohibited drug.

The charges were mentioned at Liverpool Local Court on Friday. According to documents tendered, Kammoun allegedly supplied 66.5g and 40g of cocaine between August 12 and 24 at Carnes Hill.

He also allegedly supplied 26.5g of cocaine on August 25 in Busby.

Kammoun did not appear at Liverpool Local Court on Friday and was represented by his solicitor.

The former senior constable has also been charged with five charges of cannabis supply, knowingly deal with the proceeds of crime and directing the activities of a criminal group.

No pleas have been entered and all charges will be mentioned at Parramatta Local Court next week.

Kammoun has been formally refused bail.
