Land along Camden Valley Way is being eyed by developers pitching more services and amenities for Edmondson Park, where 25,000 residents are expected to live in the next 10-15 years.
One of the latest proposals is a $14 million plan to build a commercial precinct that will include retail and recreational facilities, with residents now invited to give feedback.
Detailed planning documents have been lodged by CVW Investments Pty Ltd, who are looking to subdivide land at 2000 Camden Valley Way, Edmondson Park, into two lots.
One block of land would be dedicated to a part single and part two-storey development with an office, retail and commercial premises, food and drink outlets, health services and indoor recreational facilities, while the other would remain vacant and “subject to a future development application”, the documents show.
Up to 261 parking spaces would be available on ground level and in a basement carpark built for the site, which is currently empty land about 2.5km away from Edmondson Park train station.
Planning documents talk up the “positive social and economic benefits” of the project as it would provide “local services and retail facilities” to existing and future residents.
Last month, $21 million plans for a pub and serviced apartments were lodged by high-profile hotelier Peter De Angelis’ family operation DHI Group for land along Camden Valley Way.
Major population growth is projected for Edmondson Park which, as at the 2016 Census, was home to 2271 people and 589 families.
The proposal is now on public exhibition and submissions are due by November 20.
