Police are on the hunt for four men believed to be linked to a terrifying early morning attack on a train, which allegedly saw a 28-year-old man dragged from his seat and violently assaulted before his phone was stolen.
Just after 5.30am on Sunday November 6, a 28-year-old man boarded a southbound train from Broadmeadow Railway Station travelling towards Cockle Creek Station.
As his train pulled into Cardiff Railway Station, the alleged assault and robbery took place.
The 28-year-old man, who was seated at the time, was approached from behind by an unknown male who allegedly assaulted him before dragging him to the floor.
Then three other men also allegedly started to take part in the violent assault.
The men allegedly stole the man’s mobile phone before he was able to free himself and leave the train at Cockle Creek Railway Station.
Police have renewed an appeal for assistance as they attempt to track down the culprits. They have released images of four men who they believe can help the investigation into the alleged assault and robbery.
The first man is describe as being of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander appearance, aged 18 to 20, with black hair cut in a long mullet style. He was wearing a black shirt and red hat.
The second man is described as being of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander appearance and is believed to be aged in his thirties. He was wearing a black hooded ‘GANT’ brand jumper, black jeans, as well as red and black shoes.
The third man is described as being of caucasian appearance, aged 18 to 20. He was wearing a black hooded jumper, red shorts, red shoes and a red hat.
The fourth man is described as being of caucasian appearance, also aged 18 to 20. He had long brown hair and was wearing a green hat, black shirt, blue jeans and grey shoes.
