A man who spied on and exposed himself to an off-duty cop for “sexual gratification” in a train station toilet last year has taken issue with his picture being snapped outside court.

Xavier Issak Gabrielle-Clarke has pleaded guilty to wilful or obscene exposure in public and observing a person in a private act without consent, after a probationary constable busted him at Central railway station on December 12.

But when he left Downing Centre Local Court on Wednesday the Dulwich Hill man questioned why a Daily Telegraph photographer was pursuing him.

“Why are you taking my photo?” he asked.

Court documents state the 43-year-old observed the male officer for the purpose of “sexual arousal or sexual gratification” between 6.50 and 6.56pm on Thursday December 12, 2019.

A police statement alleged last month the officer was in a toilet cubicle at the bustling transport hub when he noticed Gabrielle-Clarke staring at him through a crack in the door.

The peeping Tom then was said to have then moved to the neighbouring cubicle, and dropped to his knees before “indecently exposing himself” to the officer.

The incident took place at bustling Central station last month.

When Gabrielle-Clarke was approached by the officer he was said to have been peering into another occupied toilet, the police statement said.

Back up arrived in the form of Police Transport Command who arrested the 43-year-old, who was taken to Day St police station.
