Two brothel employees and an associate are accused of supplying drugs worth hundreds of thousands of dollars from a brothel in Sydney’s inner west, a court has heard.

In a statement, NSW Police said officers attached to Inner West Police Area Command raided a brothel on New Canterbury Rd, Dulwich Hill on Wednesday as part of an investigation into drug supply.

“During a search, police located 150g of methamphetamine, cash, and other items relevant to the investigation,” the statement read.

“A further search warrant was executed at a home on Brighton St, Campsie, about 1pm, where methylamphetamine, cannabis and a replica firearm were seized.”

Two women, Sun Yujian, 59, and Zhang Jiyuan, 54, were arrested at Dulwich Hill and taken to Campsie police station.

Sun was charged with large commercial drug supply, indictable drug supply and knowingly dealing with the proceeds of crime in relation to 504.95g of methamphetamine, 145g of methamphetamine and $4620 cash.

Zhang was charged with two counts of ongoing prohibited drug supply, knowingly dealing with crime proceeds and indictable drug supply. Those allegations pertain to multiple supplies of methamphetamine and cocaine in a 30-day period, $5115 cash and the supply of 112.24g of methamphetamine.

A 53-year-old man named Davide Sardisco, an alleged associate of the pair, was also arrested after attending Campsie police station and charged with 16 counts of prohibited drug supply, possessing an unauthorised pistol, possessing an unauthorised firearm, and possessing prohibited drug.

On Friday, Bankstown Local Court heard telephone intercepts, physical surveillance and CCTV would form part of the police case against the trio, as Sun and Zhang applied for bail.

Lawyer Rabia Bulli told the court Sun had recently undergone surgery on her neck, and was concerned about her elderly husband and daughter finding out about her charges.

But Magistrate Glenn Walsh was not swayed by Sun’s health issues, describing the case against her as “overwhelming”.

“No neck condition stopped her going about these activities,” Mr Walsh said. “She has criminal associations with the capacity to access drugs and earn great amounts of money – it is an overwhelming case, she is almost certain to be convicted.”

Sun was refused bail and her matter was adjourned to Burwood Local Court on May 24.

A police prosecutor said Zhang was alleged to have conducted 74 drug transactions, and CCTV footage from the brothel would be used as evidence of those alleged transactions.

Mr Walsh noted Zhang was also on bail for unrelated offences when she was arrested and charged with the drug offences.

“Her ability to source drugs means she has connections with criminal organisations, and there is a real ability to commit further serious crimes as well,” Mr Walsh said. “She is likely to be convicted and incarcerated for a lengthy period of time.”

Zhang’s bail was also refused and her matter adjourned to the same date and location.

Sardisco’s matter was adjourned to Bankstown Local Court on April 13.
