Private investigators Vince Rovedi, Joanna Hamdorff and Liam Ryan set to stand trial over tracking device allegations

Three private security agents will stand trial accused of illegally installing a tracking device onto a car belonging to the brother of a high profile property developer.

A third private investigator will stand trial over allegations the trio installed a tracking device on the car of a high profile property developer’s brother.

Johanna Hamdorff, 38, faced Downing Centre Central Court on Tuesday where she pleaded not guilty to installing or using a tracking device to find a person without consent.

Former colleagues and co-accused Vince Rovedi and Liam Ryan are also facing related charges over the alleged incident from 2019.

Rovedi, 58 from Mt Tambourine in Queensland, is facing two counts of publishing a conversation obtained by surveillance devices, one count of possessing conversation device obtained by surveillance device, and knowingly installing surveillance device without consent.

Ryan, 49 who is based in Terrigal, is facing 9 charges of publishing conversations obtained by surveillance devices, possessing conversation obtained by surveillance device, and installing a tracking device without consent.

According to court documents, the charges relate to the installation of a tracking device in a car belonging to Fadie Nahas, the younger brother of high profile property developer Joe Nahas.

The eldest of the Nahas brothers is understood to have engaged the services of the three accused in their capacity as private investigators.
Neither Fadie or Joe Nahas are accused of wrongdoing.

Rovedi, Hamdorff, and Ryan will remain on bail and will be arraigned in the District Court on July 18.
