Two bikies allegedly brutally bashed a man over a gold Seiko watch and his man-bag, according to court documents.

Inner west chapter Mongols Luke Owens and Eddie Maiaua this week pleaded guilty in Sydney’s District Court over the attack on Simon Diri in December 2019.

The whole incident was reportedly captured on CCTV as the camera outside an apartment building was rolling when Mr Diri copped a series of blows at the hands of the two large bikies.

What was behind the alleged attack has never been aired in open court, but court documents show the bloody belting was over a semi-luxury timepiece and a fashion accessory now common in Sydney’s underworld.

Luke Owens, according to the documents, was the main attacker.

The Five Dock beating was so brutal he needed treatment in hospital.

According to the agreed statement of facts Mr Diri went out the front of his apartment building after Owens and Maiaua were seen on camera pacing back and forth.

The men shake hands and have a short conversation before Owens, 31, throws a right hook at Mr Diri which hit him with such force he fell back and threw the can of drink he was carrying.

The facts state Mr Diri then attempted to use his legs on the ground to block further blows before Owens moved them and hit him five more times.

Both men were charged with assault occasioning bodily harm in company after weeks of police searching for the pair last year.

Mr Diri, according to court documents, was bleeding from the face and “not defending himself” during a series of further blows when Owens ripped his man bag from over his head.

Maiaua, 41, walked up behind the victim and grabbed the Gucci bag before Owens went on to rip the gold Seiko watch off Mr Diri’s wrist.

Both men are set to front the Downing Centre District Court again later this year for sentencing.
