For BayRun record holder Thomas Do Canto the 7km run is a family affair
BayRun record holder, and inner west podiatrist, Thomas Do Canto is getting his family on the right foot ahead of the August 4 7km fun run.
Long distance runner Thomas Do Canto has competed in seven BayRuns, winning five of them, and he will be back on August 4 to try and beat his own race record set in 2016 of 20 minutes and 19 seconds.
“The BayRun is one of my favourite training races and the community spirit on the day makes it fabulous for families,” Do Canto said.
“I’ll be there with my wife and son and hopefully they’ll see me bring home another personal best. I’m hoping for under 20 minutes.”
As a professional podiatrist Do Canto is used to helping people put their best foot forward.
He believes its never too early to get the running bug so he’s teaching his own son, two year-old Leo some basic techniques to get off on the right foot.
His wife, Lana will be joining the BayRun in the women’s open category. Last year she walked the 7km pushing Leo in a pram.
