TODAY is World Nutella Day and the good people at Foodcraft Espresso in Erskineville couldn’t be more excited.
“We wanted to spread the happy news that we are giving away free Tella Balls from 11am to 12pm,” owner Aki Daikos said.
Mr Daikos said he thought it was fitting that his store joined in the celebrations of World Nutella Day, after Foodcraft Espresso’s Tella Ball milkshake was launched so successfully via social media last year.
The shake created waves among dessert-lovers, with people travelling from everywhere to try the creation — a Tella Ball doughnut atop a Nutella milkshake.
But today, Nutella-fans will have the chance to get something delicious — for free.
“For 60 glorious minutes, from 11am to 12pm, the first 300 people to line up at Foodcraft will receive a free mini Tella ball,” he said.
“This Friday will also mark the three week countdown to the highly anticipated Nutella dessert bar, Tella Balls Dessert Bar, based in Sydney’s inner west.”
Mr Daikos has made a name for himself in food-circles, as a guru of all things Nutella, and he said he’s expecting a crowd of Tella Ball fans on Friday to enjoy the free snack.
But for those who miss out on the Friday freebie, Mr Daikos said there will be plenty of time to make up for it when the Dulwich Hill Tella Ball Dessert Bar opens.
“For a glorious 84 hours every week, the dessert bar will satisfy every chocolate craving with a smorgasbord of Nutella filled desserts, gelato flavours and even a Nutella soft serve,” he said.
