FOR 48 hours their Tella Ball milkshake was the most talked about thing on the internet, but the owners of Foodcraft Espresso and Bakery say there is much more to their shop than one item.
Simon Kappatos and Aki Daikos had been running the store in Erskineville for two months when they decided to combine two of their most popular dishes — and the world is eternally grateful.
“We were already well-known for our Tella Balls, and well-known for our milkshakes, so we decided to put the two together,” Mr Daikos said.
“I posted a picture on Instagram, but we never expected what happened next.”
Before they knew it pictures of the shake were appearing across social media worldwide.
“It started going mental on the Thursday,” Mr Daikos said. “On the Friday we ran out of doughnuts at 11.30am, and at 2.30pm we ran out of milk.
“On a Sunday we’d normally go through 10kg of coffee, but last Sunday we only did 1.5kg of coffee, and went through 70kg of nutella.”
At $10, the shake is the ultimate nutella creation. You haven’t lived until you’ve tried it.
But, while the shakes are obviously creating ripples, the rest of the cafe’s menu is full of divine treats.
If your sugar-levels haven’t already peaked, the Ricotta and Blueberry Pancakes, at $16, are a must-have.

HEAVEN HAS ARRIVED IN THE FORM OF A MILKSHAKE
The short-stack of bliss is topped with marscapone, maple syrup and fresh berries and is a favourite for all ages.
At $16, and aptly named Smashed Avocado, the combination of avocado with poached eggs, marinated feta and fresh lime and sea salt is perfect for a savoury change of pace.
For something heartier on a cold morning, Italian Baked Eggs, at $18, will fill the biggest hunger.
The eggs are baked with sopressa salami, roma tomato, fresh basil provolone cheese, and topped with grano padano and garlic-infused olive oil.
