Dulwich Hill brothel workers charged with drug supply, man dead

Residents of a Sydney apartment block were shocked to see police carting a dead body out of a nearby brothel. Four months later, two sex workers and an associate have been charged with drug supply.

A man’s suspected overdose death inside a suburban Sydney brothel sparked a drug supply probe which resulted in two sex workers being charged over their alleged roles in a methamphetamine ring.

Residents of a Dulwich Hill unit block were stunned when one sharp-eyed neighbour snapped a picture of a body being removed from the Wet Kisses brothel on New Canterbury Rd and posted it in the building’s private Facebook group – before it was swiftly deleted.

Police documents tendered to Bankstown Local Court reveal the unfortunate individual was Stephen Pomeroy, 59 – now suspected to have died from a drug overdose inside the brothel.

Detectives from Inner West Police Area Command then spent the next four months tailing the brothel’s employees, resulting in two sex workers and one employee being arrested and charged.

The other employees at the brothel are not accused of any wrongdoing, nor are they under investigation.

Sun Yujian, 59, and Zhang Jiyuan, 54, were arrested at Dulwich Hill, before Sun’s partner and brothel front desk worker Davide Sardisco was arrested and charged at Campsie police station.

Sun was charged with large commercial drug supply, indictable drug supply and knowingly dealing with the proceeds of crime in relation to 504.95g of methamphetamine, 145g of methamphetamine and $4620 cash.

Zhang was charged with two counts of ongoing prohibited drug supply, knowingly dealing with crime proceeds and indictable drug supply. Those allegations pertain to multiple supplies of methamphetamine and cocaine in a 30-day period, $5115 cash and the supply of 112.24g of methamphetamine.

Both remain in custody on remand and are yet to enter pleas to the charges.

Sardisco has since pleaded guilty to 16 drug supply offences, possessing an unauthorised pistol, possessing an unauthorised firearm, and possessing a prohibited drug – with documents providing an astonishing insight into the ice syndicate police say centred on the brothel.

Police say Sardisco was in a domestic relationship with Sun and would assist her – an alleged “mid-level supplier of methamphetamine” – with supplying prohibited drugs, which were stored at his address on Brighton St in Campsie.

Phone and text warrants allowed police to listen in as Sardisco – allegedly aided by Sun and Zhang – repeatedly supplied methamphetamine all over Sydney, from Dulwich Hill in the west, to Coogee in the east and Hurstville in the south.

Court documents indicate Sardisco admits to dealing 30.43g of methamphetamine on 16 occasions between January 13 and March 29.

Police will allege Sun organised the deals with regular customers, before Sardisco supplied the drugs.

On March 28, police raided Sardisco’s address while he was not home, uncovering 5.18g of methamphetamine, 33.37g of cannabis leaf, and a black Colt-branded BB pistol with a detachable magazine.

When he was arrested, Sardisco made admissions to supplying methamphetamine on the occasions intercepted by police, and alleged he would assist Sun with supplying the drugs to her network of customers.

Sardisco was due to be sentenced at Bankstown Local Court but it was adjourned for a sentencing assessment report to be completed.
