A boss of a bodybuilding business who is accused of importing and selling huge stashes of illegal supplements had been arranging delivery of human growth hormones up to the day before his arrest, court documents allege.
Cumhur Keskin, 37, also known as Jimmy, was arrested on July 2 and slapped with 22 charges including 11 counts of importing illegal tier 1 goods and seven counts of supplying prohibited drugs.
Less than 24 hours before his arrest he is alleged to have imported 2.4kg of Arim-RX human growth hormone to Bankstown, according to court documents.
Keskin is also alleged to have imported multiple stashes of prohibited goods including human growth hormones Arim-RX, Centaurus as well as Clenbuterol, Superdrol and Methaquad Extreme, on eight occasions between January and July this year.
He was also charged with knowingly directing activities of a criminal group, being found with $49,700 suspected to be the proceeds of crime and attempting to cover up his company’s funds and assets from January to July 2020 in an attempt to pervert the course of justice.
Keskin, who lives in Olympic Park with his wife Susan, was the sole director and secretary of Evolution Supplements Australia.
The father-of-one, originally from Turkey, was excused for a brief mention of his matter at Burwood Local Court on Wednesday.
In court, an extension of brief service orders were made and Keskin’s lawyer Hisham Karnib asked for the matter to be adjourned to link up with the two other co-accused.
The police prosecutor told the court the Commonwealth Department of Public Prosecutions has elected in all matters and asked for a 12-week adjournment.
Keskin’s wife Sukran, also known as Susan and his sister in law Feliz Dur who are co-accused also had their matters heard in court.
Police allege Sukran Keskin, 35, also helped direct the alleged criminal group and is facing 19 charges related to importing prohibited tier 1 goods, supplying prohibited drugs and directing a criminal group.
Court documents allege she imported a range of supplements classified as illegal tier 1 goods including more than 11 kg of clenbuterol, almost 5kg of dianabol and about 2.5kg of Arim-RX (human growth hormone) to a Bankstown address.
Dur, 32, from Concord, was arrested on July 2 and is facing three charges of supplying a small quantity of a prohibited drug and one count of participating in a criminal group contributing to a criminal activity.
Court documents allege she supplied 32.22g of androsterone on three occasions in May and June this year.
The trio, who are all on bail, will appear before Burwood Local Court later this year.
