Coronavirus inner west: Leichhardt, Lilyfield revealed as epicentre
New stats have for the first time revealed just how many cases of COVID-19 there are in each postcode area. The figures reveal a worrying trend in Sydney’s inner west with Leichhardt and Lilyfield emerging as the deadly virus hotspots. SEE HOW MANY CASES THERE ARE IN YOUR SUBURB.

There are currently 169 cases of coronavirus in the Sydney Local Health District, which takes in the inner west and parts of Canterbury Bankstown, but for the first time the Inner West Courier can reveal which suburbs have been impacted most by the pandemic.
The suburbs of Lilyfield and Leichhardt have emerged as the hot-spots for COVID-19, recording the most cases of the virus in the inner west with nine.
The postcodes of 2024 and 2204 have the second most with eight, the area takes in the suburbs of Five Dock, Rodd Point, Abbotsford, Chiswick and Russell Lea as well as Marrickville.
Behind them with seven cases each are the postcodes of 2131, 2041 and 2044, which includes the suburbs of Ashfield, Balmain and Sydenham.
The local government area in the inner west with the most number of cases is the Inner West Council with 54.
The figures come as NSW Health announced on Thursday morning an additional 116 cases had been diagnosed overnight, bringing the state’s total to 2298.
Health authorities also confirmed a patient infected with the disease had also died over night at the Orange Base Hospital, making it the tenth in NSW since the pandemic took hold.
The 169 cases now in the Sydney Local Health District area represents an increase from the 149 which were recorded on Monday.
