The state’s bikie busting cops have arrested a proud Mongol bikie, who just days after his alleged involvement in a violent robbery was bragging about his affiliation to the gang.

Strike Force Raptor detectives charged Luke Owens, 30, last month with robbery in company over an incident in Five Dock last December that police allegeleft a man with a fractured jaw and his gold watch stolen.

But just a week after the alleged attack, Owens was taking to social media triumphantly declaring his links to the gang which has a strong presence across Australia.

“We are Mongols raiders!,” he wrote with a video of a Mongols Motorcycle Club meet up video.

His social media is littered with the Mongols images and cries of “hooah”.

Police will allege Owens and co-accused Eddie Maiaua, 40, repeatedly punched the man in the head outside his apartment on East St in Sydney’s inner west, fracturing his jaw in the process before fleeing with his watch and satchel.

The man was taken to the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital after a bystander who witnessed the incident alerted emergency services.

Maiaua, who police allege isalso a Mongols member from Erskine Park, was charged with robbery in company after he was arrested earlier this year.

He has been granted strict conditional bail.

Owens was apprehended on March 10 on Railway Pde, Eastwood and remains in custody after he was denied bail.

Both had their matters briefly mentioned in Burwood Local Court on Tuesday and are due to reappear in the same court later this year.
