A student at Woonona High School has been taken to hospital with injuries to his abdomen, with police currently on scene at the school.

Police are investigating an incident at a high school in Woonona, following reports a student was stabbed on Thursday afternoon.
In an email to parents, Woonona High Scool confirmed a student sustained “minor injuries” after an accident in the playground during the lunch break.
In a statement, police from Wollongong Police District confirmed a teenage boy was taken to hospital with injuries to his abdomen.
A police spokeswoman stated “there was nothing to suggest there is an immediate threat to anyone at the school”.
The Depatment of Education confirmed the incident had occurred and said police were investigating the circumstances.
