A little boy has been flown to hospital in a critical condition after a major crash south of Wollongong this afternoon.
Emergency services were called Albion Park around 2pm after a car and van collided on the Princes Highway.
A two-and-a-half-year-old boy in the car was seriously injured, suffering injuries to his face after hitting her head on the back of the front seat.
The driver of the vehicle, a 55-year-old woman suffered chest injuries.
The woman was taken to Wollongong Hospital by ambulance with another child, while the injured toddler was flown to Sydney Children’s Hospital in a critical condition.
There are major traffic delays in both directions on the Princes Highway. South bound traffic is being contraflowed around the accident site as south bound lanes will remain closed for some time while officer await the arrival of the Crash Investigation Unit from Sydney.
