A Mt Keira man has admitted to supplying more than 600 grams of cocaine to street level dealers and two other men, after a lengthy police investigation captured him bragging about the high quality of his “Bolivia coke”.

David Ognenovski faced Wollongong Local Court on Wednesday, where he pleaded guilty to two counts of supply commercial quantity of prohibited drugs, including MDMA and cocaine, after a major police investigation revealed he’d been supplying to two drug syndicates.

Ognenovski came under the notice of Strike Force Raptor in April 2019 and Strike Force Yupparra in June last year, as part of investigations into cocaine and MDMA supply in the Illawarra.

Strike Force Yupparra was investigating a party drug syndicate police allege was being run by two burly redhead twins, Flinn and Joel Westman. While Raptor was investigating a syndicate made up of Ognenovski and two other men.

During the course of the investigations, police used physical surveillance and phone intercepts to monitor Ognenovski and his associates.

On several occasions between July and August 2019, Ognenovski was captured on surveillance at a Coniston home, where he prepared drugs, counted cash and discussed the sourcing and supply of the drugs.

On one occasion in June, court documents reveal Ognenovski bragged about the quality of his cocaine to a street-level dealer.

Court documents reveal he was at a home with the cocaine when his associate arrived and noticed the large amount of cocaine, saying: “‘What the f**k. How much is that? Holy sh*t. F**k me dead. I’ve never seen this much rack in my life”.

Ognenovski then described the drug as “Bolivia coke”, saying “93 per cent, best you can get”.

On another occasion in August, police surveillance captured Ognenovski arriving at a home with a brown paper bag. Once inside, he pulled a chip packet from the bag and placed it on the dining room table. Court documents reveal almost 130 grams of cocaine was inside.

Ognenovski split the coke into four ounce (28g) bags, one bag with a half ounce and another with 3.5g. Court documents say that once he’d packaged the new bags, he held them up saying “oi $91K off these, off these, I’ll make $10K”.

However, police swooped on Ognenovski and several others in sweeping raids across the region on August 16 before he’d had the chance to hire a container.

When officers arrived at one address, police searched a jetski in a garage, finding 504.6g of MDMA stuffed in a Maccas bag under the seat. While Ognenovski on Wednesday admitted to supplying MDMA, court documents state that Ognenovski “did not have knowledge of a large commercial quantity of MDMA, being stored in the jetski”.

Ognenovski was arrested afterwards at his Mt Keira home, where police found $40,000 cash inside his residence.

The Westmans and several of their associates were also arrested at Coniston on the same day. The twins were each charged with 26 drug supply charges which they are yet to enter pleas to. They will return to court in September.

Meanwhile, Ognenovski, who has been in custody since his arrest more than a year ago, will face the NSW District Court next month for sentencing.
