A teen boy is facing allegations he played a part in the fatal stabbing of a young man near a train station in the Illawarra, hours after a woman fronted court charged with murder.

Jack Westren, 25, was stabbed in the abdomen shortly before 3pm on Tuesday at Dunmore, near Shellharbour Junction train station.

Paramedics rushed to the scene at Saturn Crescent, but he died as a result of the injuries.

Police established a crime scene before officers arrested Tamara Lee Doust, 35, at her home in Albion Park Rail early on Wednesday morning.

About 3pm on Wednesday police made a second arrest, being that of a 15-year-old boy at an address in Horsley, before escorting him to Lake Illawarra Police Station where he was charged with murder and possessing an unauthorised pistol in relation to the seizure of a gel blaster firearm.

Police will allege Westren was stabbed while being assaulted by a number of people who fled in an Isuzu MU-X.

The vehicle was later recovered in Albion Park Rail and seized for forensic examination, police say.

Earlier Doust faced Wollongong Local Court, via video link, handcuffed and seemingly wearing a hospital gown, charged with Mr Westren’s murder.

Defence solicitor John de Jonge told the court Doust would not be applying for bail or entering a plea.

Police prosecutor Richard Novatin told the court an additional charge of being an accessory after the fact to murder had also been laid against Doust.

Court documents relating to the second charge allege Doust “did receive, harbour, maintain and assist” a person, who is yet to be identified, knowing they had committed murder.

A NSW Police spokesperson said investigations were continuing, with detectives keen to speak with a number of people they believe were at the scene at the time of the incident.

Magistrate David Williams formally refused Doust bail, with the case to return to court in March.

The boy faced Campbelltown Children’s Court on Thursday where he did not apply for bail before it was formally refused.

He will return to court in April.
