The wife of an Illawarra property developer who pleaded guilty to firing a gun above her head in a baby gender reveal stunt has revealed her next business move.

Sara Douna, the wife of Charbel Douna, has created a kids’ party entertainment service that focuses on high teas and day spas for children.

Mrs Douna boasts nearly 12,000 followers on Instagram but the day her husband was charged with an alleged $14 million fraud, her social media pages went dark as she switched her account to private.

The Director of Public Prosecutions later sensationally withdrew all fraud-related charges against Charbel.

Now the Illawarra influencer and mother of four has stepped back into the spotlight.

Mrs Douna’s new business with her friend Gisu Avramoski is called Chante Kids and will officially open in August.

“Co-owners Gisu and Sara collectively and with the inspiration of their children have created the ultimate party destination for your child’s next celebration,” an Instagram post said.

The bougie aesthetic features pastel pinks and greens, balloons, kids painting, decadent cakes, macarons, and has a French-inspired theme.

The business promises “to make all your Parisian party dreams come true”.

“Change is a boutique kids party destination located in the heart of Wollongong. Designed and inspired by the streets of Paris, Chante is the ultimate chic space to celebrate your sweet mademoiselle,” the social media page says.

They offer a variety of party options and parents can work with a stylist to design the event.

Prices for the event styling service are yet to be released.

The Douna families are no strangers to lavish birthday parties for their children.

In April Elie Douna’s wife Emily, who has nearly 90,000 followers, hosted a pink Bridgerton-themed party for her three-year-old daughter including a lavish tablescape, flowers, white gloves, high tea and a two-tiered cake.

Sara and Emily reveal their daily lives of luxury with their children on their Instagram pages, with posts showing happy snaps of their kids, holidays, shopping and posed professional photos of the whole family.

The Dounas attracted media and police attention after a heavily pregnant Mrs Douna posted a video to her Instagram page showing her husband firing a .22 calibre bolt action rifle at a balloon attached to a string his pregnant wife held above her head.

The balloon popped, revealing a spray of pink and the gender of their baby, at their Calderwood home in the Illawarra in May 2019.

Charbel Douna, 35, pleaded guilty to the possession of an unauthorised firearm, firing a firearm in a manner likely to injure/damage persons/property and two counts of being in unauthorised possession of an approved gaming machine.

He got away with the stunt after his lawyer argued in court last week that Mrs Douna posted the video to her own Instagram page and his client wasn’t showing a disregard for her safety with the rifle pointed in the air.

Douna was placed on a 12-month conditional release order and walked out of Wollongong Local Court a smiling man.

Only a few months earlier, the Director of Public Prosecutions sensationally withdrew all fraud-related charges against Charbel.

Police had alleged in February 2021 that Charbel, along with his twin brother Elie, used falsified documentation in an attempt to obtain a $14.7 million loan to construct homes for their luxury 92-home property development, Avoca Park, in Avondale.

Last month, 21 charges were all wiped from the record in court before the three charges were laid against Elie only.

The charges related to making a false document to obtain a financial advantage which occurred at the ANZ branch in Albion Park Rail on the morning of February 17, 2021.

Court documents revealed shocking details about the $14.7 million scam with police listening in on numerous phone calls between Douna, his twin brother Charbel, a solicitor and a real estate agent Ben Feltham.

Elie Douna needed a loan to fund the LuxLiving Homes project, however, he had only sold 10 of the proposed 19 homes which led to him forging dodgy documents for the nine unsold properties.

Douna pleaded guilty to the three charges and will be sentenced at a later date.
