An Illawarra DJ has denied allegations he raped three teenage girls, telling a jury their sex was always consensual.

Twenty-two-year-old Remzi Bektasovski took the witness stand for the first time on Thursday afternoon, where he refuted allegations he sexually assaulted the three teens between 2016 and 2017.

Earlier in the trial, which began on Monday, the first woman told the jury she was raped by Mr Bektasovski in the bedroom of her family home after meeting him at a party earlier in 2016.

She told the jury she’d had consensual sex with Mr Bektasovski once before the alleged assault. In her evidence she told the court the DJ kissed her aggressively and gripped her shoulders leaving her in immense pain before allegedly raping her despite her pleas for him to stop.

Mr Bektasovski, however, denied the allegations on Thursday, telling the court the sex was consensual, and that the pair had sex up to four times - not two.

“We were friends with benefits,” he told the court.

He also rejected the young woman’s claims that she texted him after the assault saying “dude you raped me”, before he responded with “it was OK, it was like last time”.

“Do you recall receiving that message,” defence lawyer Matthew Johnson aked Mr Bektasovski on Thursday. “No,” he responded.

“Did you reply to that message,” Mr Johnson followed up. “No I don’t recall,” said Mr Bektasovski.

It’s the Crown case the second girl was allegedly assaulted in her home between February 1 and 2, 2017, after Mr Bektasovski told her he was coming over, despite her texting him “wtf no”.

In court on Thursday he told the court he “couldn’t recall” sending or receiving the texts.

When he arrived at the teen’s house, it was alleged by the Crown he laid the girl on the bed, despite her telling him she didn’t want to have sex.

Crown prosecutor Michael Fox told the court Mr Bektasovski put his penis into the girl “without telling her”. It’s alleged that when he finished, Mr Bektasovski put his shoes on and told the girl “I knew you would enjoy it if I force you”.

Mr Bektasovski denied saying those words to the girl, telling the court “no that never happened, I disagree”.

He told the court he met the girl on Tinder, and their conversations moved to Snapchat where he said she “wanted to meet him”. He told the court they had sex three times, each of which was consensual and that they too had agreed to be “friends with benefits”.

The now 22-year-old also rejected claims a series of later text messages between the pair were related to the alleged assault.

In one message, it’s alleged he texted the victim “I knew you’d tell people” after one of her friends messaged him a rude finger emoji.

In text messages read to the court, Mr Bektasovski followed up with “I think it’s best we just don’t keep in contact with each other anymore.”

When asked by Mr Johnson what he meant, the DJ said it wasn’t related to the girl’s rape claims, instead that he didn’t want people knowing their “personal business”.

“I didn’t want to be in contact anymore because she was telling people about our sexual relationship” he told the court.

Mr Bektasovski has pleaded not guilty to the five charges against him including three counts of sexual intercourse without consent, aggravated sexual assault inflicting actual bodily harm and assault with act of indecency.

The trial before Judge Andrew Haesler continues.
