An Illawarra Snapchat deviant awaiting to learn his fate for a collection of stomach-churning child abuse offences has been slapped with another charge.

Alex McPhie, 26, was tracked down following an 18-month investigation after the predator had coerced a 10-year-old girl to send him nudes before blackmailing her 11-year-old sister on the popular social media platform.

After he was caught, police uncovered a grotesque stash of child abuse material featuring girls as young as three.

The Albion Park man, who remains on bail, previously pleaded guilty to six offences including two counts of using a carriage service to transmit child abuse material, two counts of possessing child abuse material, using a carriage service to solicit child abuse material and possess child abuse material with the intention to breach.

However, in Wollongong District Court on Friday a further charge – which McPhie has pleaded guilty to – was mentioned, namely, procure a child for sexual activity outside of Australia.

Court documents stated this offence occurred in January, 2019 – nearly a year prior to his harassment of the 10 and 11-year-old girls – with McPhie procuring a 15-year American for sexual activity.

Documents relating to the other set of offending revealed McPhie went by the username “Matty34” while masquerading as a 13-year-old boy.

McPhie told the 10-year-old girl he “loved her body”, sent her a picture of his penis and pressured her into sending him a picture of her vagina.

“It looks perfect,” McPhie said, referring to the minor’s vagina.

“I wish we were older so we could see them more … so we could be naughty together with our privates.”

The girl‘s 11-year-old sister confronted McPhie on Snapchat, telling him to “delete her or block her.

The court documents stated he asked why and she said “cause ur a skanky old c**t”.

“What will you do to make sure I don’t,” McPhie said.

“Do you really want them (the photos of the 10-year-old girl) kept a secret … what are you wearing?”

McPhie threatened to send her sister‘s photos “around everywhere” saying “I‘m spreading your sisters nudes now that’s your fault … You’ve made the choice enjoy your sister being a slut”.

The children told their mother about McPhie‘s menacing behaviour with the conversation reported to police on December 31, 2019.

The court documents stated police managed to locate McPhie using his IP location and Snapchat history to link “Matty34” to his address, as well as that of his family and girlfriend.

The matter will return to Wollongong District Court in 2023.

Police searched his Albion Park home where they seized two iPhones containing a child abuse material including photos sent by the 10-year-old girl.

There were a total of 34 items of child abuse material featuring an age range of three to 16-years-old.

One of the items was a screenshot conversation with a thumbnail of a pre-pubescent girl of approximately 10-years-old in her underpants with part of the conversation reading “is that the youngest u got”.

Police also discovered a large quantity of adult pornography and a screenshot of a NSW Police Q&A website dubbed “Child pornography over the internet” taken four months before her tormented the two sisters.

McPhie will return to Wollongong District Court in February, 2023.
