A Figtree man described as “extremely obsessive and controlling” has faced court after the alleged ongoing harassment of a woman he had a short term relationship with.

Toni Murgovski appeared in Wollongong Local Court on Tuesday after being charged with more than 120 counts of contravening an apprehended domestic violence order and using a carriage service to menace or harass.

Court documents tendered during the 53-year-old‘s bail application indicated he was charged with contravening the ADVO in October, last year, however he is alleged to have continued offending until he was detained and his phone was seized.

The alleged continued offending was picked up during a routine ADVO police check on the woman where she alleged the former BlueScope maintenance supervisor had kept harassing her through “No Caller ID” calls.

The court documents, which alleged Murgovski had “extremely obsessive and controlling behaviour towards the victim”, went into detail about the voicemails he allegedly left.

Murgovski allegedly called the woman nine times on Christmas Eve, where he left a raft of perplexing messages.

“Stop throwing the AVO in my face”, he is alleged to have said in one while saying he will “not give up” on the woman.

Soon after he allegedly left a voicemail saying “Love is love, but I doubt you know how to love anymore”.

Another allegedly said “I guess I'll see you when you are 57 when this AVO runs out. I won’t take you back at 57. I won’t take you back then” and “I’m not a dick. Merry Christmas”.

His alleged “ramblings” continued, with Murgovski leaving voicemails about how he was a “great cook” and how he wanted to marry the woman.

The documents stated at 5.17pm on New Year's Eve Murgovski left a voicemail saying “Happy New Year, I don’t know if I’ll make it to midnight,” adding that ”money is always there”.

On New Year’s Day, Murgovski is alleged to have sent the woman a voicemail saying he loved her, while talking about how his life was “pretty rosy” and that he could “do this forever”.

However, an hour later he allegedly sent another saying “Who else cares about you for f--k sake”.

“I'm offering you stability, money,” it continued.

“You want me to move on, I will. Happy New Year [woman]. Happy f--king new year. F--king grow up.”

Shortly after, Murgovski asked the woman if she wanted to go to the beach.

Police arrested Murgovski earlier this month where they seized his phone.

In court on Tuesday, police prosecutor Sergeant Kate McKinley said Murgovski was “someone who does not stop”.

“What else can the court do to protect this victim other than refuse bail? An AVO hasn't stopped him.”

Magistrate Michael O‘Brien was prepared to grant him bail with a list of stringent conditions including surrendering his phone and not purchasing or using someone else’s.

Mr O'Brien also ordered he see a doctor and accept treatment, not consume alcohol or take drugs, report weekly to Wollongong Police and not go near or contact the woman.

The matter will return to the same jurisdiction in February.
