Georgia and Chelsea Hubbard: Sisters cop charges after alleged Illawarra pub brawl

A wannabe policewoman and her younger sister are before the courts after their alleged involvement in a nasty nightclub fight.

Two sisters have been accused of being involved in a brutal bar brawl at a Wollongong nightclub earlier this year.

The Sunday Telegraph reported last month that wannabe cop Georgia Hubbard, 24, had been charged with affray which has put her career aspirations on ice.

NewsLocal can reveal that her younger sister, Chelsea Hubbard, is facing the same charge with the 22-year-old accused of being involved in the fight at the Illawarra Hotel over the June long weekend.

The sisters are yet to enter a plea and didn’t attend Wollongong Local Court as the matter was mentioned on Tuesday, with their lawyer Matthew Ward granted an adjournment until next month.

Police will allege the sisters were captured on CCTV on the dance floor of the popular Illawarra haunt at around 10pm on Sunday, June 12.

It’s alleged a female victim was struck nine times in the head during the attack.

Police were alerted to the altercation and spoke to the sisters and another woman, with Georgia allegedly making “partial admissions” to the assault.

Investigators were able to view the CCTV footage three days later.

A person who witnessed the incident at the Illawarra Hotel said it “escalated quickly”.

“All of a sudden, all the police were there,” they said.

The following day Georgia, who it was confirmed was a student police officer, was served with a court attendance notice for the offence of affray.

A police spokesperson confirmed the older sister’s professional suitability as a policing student has been suspended.
