Emrah Nokic killed after car crashes into tree in Royal National Park crash

A teenager who was killed in a horrific crash south of Sydney on Saturday has been remembered as a ‘precious soul’. It comes as police have appealed for witnessess who may have seen the collision.

A 19-year-old man killed in a crash at the Royal National Park on Saturday has been remembered as a “precious soul”.

Sydney teenager Emrah Nokic died just after 1.30pm on April 25, after the Blue Nissan Silvia he was travelling in collided with a tree on Lady Wakehurst Drive.

Mr Nokic was in the front passenger seat while his friend, an 18-year-old man from Fairfield, was driving the vehicle.

Emergency services were called to Lilyvale, near Helensburgh, following reports of the crash, but sadly found Mr Nokic deceased upon arrival.

His friend was treated at the scene and taken to St George Hospital in a stable condition with minor injuries to his hip and arm as well as grazes.

The man stayed in hospital overnight and underwent mandatory testing before he was released on Sunday.

On Monday, police confirmed the Crash Investigation Unit was investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, and that no charges had been laid on the driver at this point in time.

Social media was flooded with condolences for Mr Nokic, who was remembered by one friend “as a precious soul” who loved working on his car.

“Emrah for those of you who didn’t know him had just begun getting involved within the local car scene and was continually working on his S15 (Nissan Silvia S15),” Limited car club said in a post on Facebook.

“This is a time for all to reflect on driving abilities and the responsibilities one must undertake while having a passengers in the car … We urge you to take care on our roads.”

Police are appealing to anyone who was travelling south along Lady Wakehurst Drive and witnessed the crash, or anyone who may have seen a blue Nissan 200SX and may have dashcam footage to contact the NSW Police Crash Investigation Unit 02 4232 5599.
