The glamorous wives of twins Elie and Charbel Douna have made sharing their lavish lifestyles a social media art form, flaunting first-class trips and designer clothing to their huge followings.
The twins feature heavily on Emily and Sara’s pages, travelling the world, dining at restaurants like Nobu and Mimi’s regularly, and buying their betrotheds extravagant gifts.
That was until their husbands were taken into police custody on Wednesday morning.
The owners of Albion Park building company LuxLiving, Elie and Charbel Douna were arrested in sweeping raids on Friday.
Police allege they used falsified documentation in an attempt to obtain a $14.7 million loan to construct properties in LuxLiving’s 92-home Avondale estate ‘Avoca Park’.
Their wives Emily and Sara are not accused of any wrongdoing.
While Elie’s wife Emily, who boasts almost 100,000 Instagram followers, kept her profile public after they hit the headlines, Charbel’s wife Sara locked her page down.
Emily, in particular, portrays the life many new mums would lust over.
Throughout her pregnancies and newborn nursing years, her maternity gear was always designer and she was always somewhere glamorous, lunching with her husband or girlfriends.
Elie and Emily first made headlines in 2017, after their extravagant wedding at Sydney’s Luna Park went viral.
From opulent gold monograms of their initials to a surprise fireworks display on Sydney Harbour, the wedding left the internet guessing just how much the lavish nuptials cost.
And while they may seem it now – they’ve never been shy of the media.
Elie and Emily have been photographed on the social scene for years at extravagant parties and events, once for the pages of News Corp’s Gold Coast Bulletin at the five-star Palazzo Versace for New Year’s Eve – which can cost up to $700 per ticket.
In recent years, Elie and Emily have flown all over the world – usually first-class.

From videos kissing under the Eiffel Tower, to riding gondolas in Venice and camels in Dubai, their seemingly extraordinary wealth is constantly splashed across social media.
The glam family also have a shared penchant for designer duds.
It is hard to find a social media snap where the women are not wearing designer bags, Hermes sandals or Valentino heels, while the men are always in designer polo shirts.
One Christmas photo on Emily’s account showed a decorated tree surrounded almost exclusively by Chanel and Gucci boxes.
And it is not just their appearances that scream wealth – it is also their homes.
Sara often posts shots of her expansive Calderwood property, showcasing views of rolling hills and Range Rovers.
She and Charbel have been together since they were just 15, according to an online interview with her last year, with the couple enjoying a lavish wedding in Greece.
While comments about her husband’s arrest have started to show up on Emily’s Instagram, she’s been quick to delete them, maintaining their picture-perfect personas.
Elie and Charbel are set to face court for the first time in April, each charged with 19 counts of publishing false or misleading information to obtain advantage, dishonestly obtaining a financial advance by deception and participating in a criminal group.
There is no suggestion either Emily or Sara knew about, or were involved with their husbands’ alleged activities.
