A series of disturbing 10-second Snapchat videos have landed an 18-year-old girl in the hands of the law, after she allegedly filmed herself attacking a Bulli father.

Casey Holmes faced Wollongong Local Court for the first time on Tuesday, less than a month after she posted the videos to social media, laughing at the alleged injuries she’d inflicted on 57-year-old Bulli man Brad Quirk.

Holmes was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and affray on October 1, just two days after the videos of the alleged assault went viral on Facebook, racking up more than 90,000 views in just a few days.

In the videos, Mr Quirk looks dazed and confused, with blood and bruises covering his face as he stumbled through Thirroul’s William Woodward Park.

During the video, a woman can be heard saying, “This is pretty random but I f***ed this c**t up because he was looking at me and … [my friend], and it’s her 18th so …”

She then says “can I just take a photo of your face, look it’s bleeding, that’s from me”.

In court, police will allege Mr Quirk had been sitting on a bench in the park about 8.45pm on September 28, when he was assaulted by Holmes as a friend watched on and laughed.

In a later Snapchat video allegedly posted on Holmes account, she said she was against violence but “seriously I had to post this it was that funny”.

“He just got f**ked up,” she added.

Holmes’s case was briefly mentioned in front of a registrar on Tuesday morning before it was adjourned to November. She is yet to enter a plea to the charges.

Outside court, Holmes, who was flanked by her mum and lawyer, accused the waiting media of “harassment”.
