Brock Martin: Man accused of tossing balls full of tobacco, bupe into Cooma prison
A Bellambi man has been granted bail after he was caught supplying drugs on two occasions, one just hours after he was released from prison.

A Bellambi man has been granted strict bail after police allege he launched tennis balls full of drugs over the wall of a NSW prison just two hours after he was released.
Brock Martin, 23, was granted strict bail by Magistrate Claire Girotto at Wollongong Local Court on Wednesday, after police allegedly busted him with drugs down his pants following a brazen operation to sneak drugs to his former inmates at Cooma jail.
The 23-year-old was released to parole from Cooma Jail at 9.30am on July 9 and immediately left to buy a Nike hoodie and three packets of tobacco.
At 11.30am, police allege he returned to the prison, arriving at the back wall in a white Toyota HiLux.
It’s alleged CCTV captured Martin launching two “Nerf Dog” branded tennis balls over the jail wall and into the exercise yard, before taking off in the HiLux.
One of the balls was quickly picked up by inmates, while guards intercepted the other. Upon examination of the tennis ball, police allege corrections staff found 28 grams of tobacco and an amount of bupe strips.
According to court documents, a single cigarette is selling for $100 in NSW jails, while bupe can go for even more due to the fact there are “virtually no” banned substances in prisons because of the pandemic visitor restrictions.
Police stopped Martin on the Monaro Highway in the ACT a short time later, where it’s alleged they found another tennis ball of the same brand, scissors as well as “an amount of drugs” in the car.
According to the documents, Martin denied the allegations upon his arrest.
He was subsequently charged with two counts of unlawfully deliver or attempt to deliver anything to inmate, bring prohibited drug into place of detention, posses prohibited drug and supply prohibited drug.
The 23-year-old was due to face Cooma Local Court on the charges on September 9, however failed to attend.
On September 15, police pounced on an Osborne Street home in Dapto, after receiving reports Martin was inside.
Upon arrival, police allege in the documents that Martin tried to take off, fleeing through a rear door toward the back fence.
Police allege they saw Martin try and hide something down the front of his pants, prompting them to arrest him.
As Martin fell to the ground, police allege they found an egg shaped container hidden in his underwear. Inside the container, police allege were five bags containing 1.55g of meth, 0.56g of heroin and 1.07g of cannabis.
He was additionally charged with four counts of possessing prohibited drugs.
In court on Wednesday, Magistrate Girotto agreed to release Martin to strict bail, enforcing a curfew and the condition he not leave home without his mum.
