A young man killed in a car crash on the South Coast last week has been remembered as a “well-loved and respected” man with a “wonderful disposition”.
Twenty-five year-old Bomaderry man Jack Paul Johnson died on Saturday, June 8 after his ute slammed into a tree at Gerroa Road near Berry.
Emergency services arrived on scene shortly after 5pm, but sadly, Mr Johnson was unable to be revived. His passenger, a 24-year-old man, was flown to St George Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Mr Johnson was one of four people killed tragically killed on NSW roads on the Queen’s Birthday long weekend.
His mum Joan Johnson has started a Go Fund Me page to assist in raising money to cover the costs of his funeral.
Joan said her son would be greatly missed not just by his family, but the Shoalhaven community.
“Jack was well loved and respected by everyone who knew him,” she wrote. “He was a hard working young man, who never stopped.”
Joan said her son loved his family, his friends, cars and sport - in particular football.
“He had a wonderful disposition and always held his head high,” she said.
“Jack was always smiling and his laugh was unique. He was a wonderful son, brother, uncle and friend.
“ He will be greatly missed.”
Of the $15,000 goal, more than $2600 had been raised in just one day. All money raised will go toward celebrating Jack’s life.
