The ex-wife of Rodger Muller, a Shoalhaven man who fooled One Nation and the NRA in an explosive Al Jazeera documentary released earlier this year, has been found guilty of defrauding local turf companies of more than $180,000.

Alison Louise Muller, 48, was found guilty of 11 charges of dishonestly obtaining financial advantage by deception and one of publishing misleading material to obtain deception by Magistrate Alison Viney at Burwood Local Court on August 30.

Ms Muller was working for a number of businesses owned by Gavin Rogers at the time of the fraud — including Lawn Lovers Pty Ltd, Lawn Solutions, Rogers Turf Grass, and Green Propeller Pty Ltd — when she either overpaid herself, transferred money to her company or onto her credit card.

According to court documents, Ms Muller misappropriated more than $180,000 from Mr Roger’s businesses over a four-year period from February 2010 to April 2014.

While Ms Muller pleaded not guilty to the 12 offences, Magistrate Viney found otherwise, delivering a guilty verdict last week, after several months of court sittings in Nowra, Milton and Sydney.

Ms Muller’s ex-husband Roger made headlines in March after it was revealed he spent three years working as an undercover journalist, infiltrating the NRA and One Nation Party at the request of Al Jazeera.

His job was to uncover whether One Nation had any ties to the American gun lobby, they did not, but with Mr Muller’s help, a relationship between the two was established.

The documentary made international headlines, after it was revealed Mr Muller had been leading a double life for years in order to take part in the elaborate investigation.

After finding Ms Muller guilty last week, Magistrate Viney ordered she report to Nowra Community Corrections, ahead of her sentencing in October.
