It’s a long shot but Turramurra’s Margaret Roc hopes the jewellery she accidentally donated to charity last year can be returned to her.

Ms Roc rolled up two gold chains and a gold ring in a pair of socks and placed them inside her bedside table before inadvertently donating it to charity bins at South Turramurra shops.

The possessions were dispatched to St Vincent De Paul and The Red Cross Turramurra.

The engraved ring has great sentimental value for Ms Roc, 73, as it was a gift from her grandfather, Willie Gemell, to grandmother Jeannie (nee) MacLeod during World War I.

The inscription on the ring said: “WG to JM” and possibly the year it was presented to her.”

Ms Roc is offering a $100 reward if anyone can help find it.
