Police have uncovered two indoor cannabis plantations estimated to be worth $1.1 million inside two northern Sydney homes and arrested two people in connection to one of them.
In June, police received information that cannabis was allegedly being cultivated at two properties in Turramurra and Warrawee.
About 6am on Thursday, after police had conducted an extensive surveillance operation on the property, officers from the Region Enforcement Squad at Gordon executed a search warrant at a property at Kate St, in Turramurra.
Police located a significant indoor cannabis plantation valued at $690,000.
A 35-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman were arrested at the property and taken to Hornsby police station where they are expected to be charged with large commercial cultivation of cannabis.
Less than 30 minutes later, officers also executed a search warrant at a property at Mitchell Crescent, Warrawee and located a significant indoor cannabis plantation valued at $430,000.
No one was arrested in Warrawee as the investigation into the commercial cultivation of cannabis continues.
