Ku-ring-gai police conducted a search of the area without success and serious concerns remain for the mother and newborn’s welfare.

Police said the pair required medical assistance. It is believed Ms Hape may be in company of the child’s father, Benjamine Street, and driving a white Volkswagen Transporter with ACT registration YGG45K.

Ms Hape is described as being of Pacific Islander or Maori appearance, about 170cm tall, of medium build, with black hair and brown eyes.

Ms Hape is known to frequent Blacktown and the upper north shore, and has associates in The Hills, Nepean, and Mt Druitt areas.
