Member of the public find lost body in Hawkesbury
A member of the public has called police after finding body in the Hawkesbury River. Police divers had originally tried to recover the body last month, but were forced to let it go when diving conditions became dangerous.

A body lost in the Hawkesbury River for nearly a month has finally be recovered near Brooklyn.
About 10.45am on Sunday a member of the public called the police after finding the body in the water, east of the Hawkesbury River Railway Bridge.
Officers from Kuring Gai Police Area Command went to the scene and retrieved the body.
On Monday, August 12, witnesses reported a 4WD crashed off the Old Pacific Highway bridge about 9.15pm.
Over the next week, police made 10 divers to a depth of 22m with limited to zero visibility in cold waters before finding the car buried in mud.
Police divers found the body trapped in the driver’s seat and removed it from the car but soon got caught in a strong current.
Two divers were separated and one tried to surface but was unsuccessful in bringing the body up with them.
A second team was immediately dispatched but they were unable to find the body.
Now that it has been recovered, it will be forensically examined to be identified, before a brief is prepared for the coroner to determine the circumstances surrounding the death.
