Man arrested over sexual act on train, CCTV released of other alleged offenders

A 53-year-old man has been arrested and charged for allegedly performing sexual acts on a train, while police have released CCTV images of three other men they wish to locate.

A 53-year-old man has been arrested and charged for allegedly performing sexual acts in front of passengers during two separate train rides including a trip from Hornsby to Strathfield.

Police have also released images of three other alleged offenders they are looking for relating to separate sexual offences on Sydney trains and buses.

The 53-year-old man was arrested at his home in Glebe yesterday following two alleged incidents in April and June of this year.

The man has been charged over two incidents on trains.

Police allege the first incident happened on the Hornsby to Strathfield train service on April 25 and the second incident happened on the Wyee to Fassifern train service on June 22.

He has been charged with two counts of committing sexual act without consent and was due to appear at Newtown Local Court today.

Police attached to Operation Artemis have also released CCTV images of three other men they are looking for.

A 14-year-old girl was allegedly indecently assaulted by a man on a bus travelling from Blacktown to Glenwood about 3.25pm on Thursday, May 30.

Police Transport Command North West Sector commander Detective Superintendent Brad Monk said any information the public can provide could help locate the alleged offenders.

“It’s unacceptable that people going about their day-to-day lives on public transport are subject to such cowardly acts,” Supt Monk said.

“We remind the public who have been subject to assault on public transport that any information you provide to police will be treated with the strictest of confidence, and our inquiries will be extensive.”
