Hornsby armed robbery: Police release CCTV images of man entering Burdette St grocery store

Police are on the hunt for a man involved in a terrifying armed robbery on Sydney’s leafy upper north shore. See the images and watch the video of the man police would like to speak to.

Police are on the hunt for a man involved in a terrifying armed robbery, where the suspect entered a grocery store and used a pair of pliers to threaten an employee.

About 4:45pm on Sunday July 3, police officers were called to a grocery store on Burdette St, Hornsby, following reports of an armed robbery.

At the store, the police were told a man had entered and threatened an employee with a pair of pliers, demanding cash.

The man stole the money and then fled the scene. He was last seen heading north on Hunter Ln.

The employee was not injured by the man.

Police have now renewed appeals for assistance as they attempt to track down the culprit.

They have released images and footage of a man, about 20 years of age, who they believe can help the investigation.

The man is 165cm to 170cm tall, of thin build, with dark hair and an unshaven face.

On the afternoon of the robbery, he was wearing a dark blue hooded jumper with the hood pulled over his head, long black pants, black gloves and black work boots. He was also carrying a pair of white handled pliers.
