Hornsby 142 brothel: Wai Kwan Mo offered drug to her clients
Sex worker ‘Mia’ got the fright of her life when cops stormed the brothel she worked at while mid-session with a client. She has now come clean to offering her clients drugs by using fruit codenames via the WeChat message service.

A sex worker charged as part of an alleged drug ring operating out of a Hornsby brothel has admitted to offering drugs to clients.
Wai Kwan Mo, 50, of Cromer, was one of four people arrested during a police sting on the Hornsby 142 brothel last September, when specialist police swarmed on sex workers during a midmorning raid, finding illicit drugs and weapons.
Mo, known by her working name ‘Mia’, was one of four people charged in what police allege was a sophisticated drug syndicate based at the George St brothel.
Police allege prohibited drugs, smoking devices and weapons, including a machete and a baseball bat were found throughout the brothel, with officers choosing not to seize the smoking implements because they were “so numerous”.
The northern beaches woman was sprung by police when they stormed the rooms of the brothel while she was mid-session with a client.
She faced Parramatta Local Court on Wednesday for a hearing after initially pleading not guilty to six drug-related charges.
However, a last-minute negotiation led to late guilty pleas to two counts of supplying a prohibited drug and being found on a drug premises. Three remaining charges were withdrawn by the prosecution.
According to court documents, police deemed the licensed brothel to be a drug premises and charged Mo after she was found on site during the September 13 raid.
Police said Mo was found by Ku-ring-gai police in one of the brothel’s rooms with a male client laying on the bed alongside 26.84g of MDMA in a small resealable bag.
After seizing her phone, police found a string of texts between Mo and unknown clients, in which she used the code names ‘apple’ and ‘orange’ for MDMA.
Documents revealed the contents of Wechat messages between Mo and potential drug buyers, dating back to March 25 and April 21, 2019.
In one of the exchanges, Mo negotiated the supply of 3.8g, or ‘one apple’ of MDMA for $650.
Further Wechat messages exposed Mo’s communication with a second unknown buyer, in which she offered to supply further quantities of MDMA.
The six-month police investigation also resulted in the arrest of brothel madam Min Van Campenhout, 45, of Wahroonga, who was charged with being the occupier of a property knowingly used as a drug premises.
She faces further charges of participating in a criminal group and possessing Viagra.
Brothel employee and the drug ring’s alleged mastermind Jun Jia, 28, of Strathfield, also faces a string of charges, including supplying a commercial quantity of the drug ice and taking part in a criminal group.
Fellow brothel worker Aiping Xiao, 34, of Hornsby, allegedly lived and worked at the brothel. Police allege she was found with 2.46g of methamphetamine during the raid.
She faces two charges, including possessing a prohibited drug and being found on a drug premises.
They each remain before the courts.
Mo will face Parramatta Local Court again in September for sentence.
