The final piece of the funding puzzle for a new clubhouse at Ern Holmes Oval in Pennant Hills has officially fallen into place.

Following the state government securing $965,000 for the project earlier this year, federal liberal member for Berowra Julian Leeser has announced a further $500,000 in federal funding to make the almost $1.5 million dollar facility a reality.

“This is a significant federal government investment in the Pennant Hills sporting community,” Mr Leeser said.

“The upgrade will benefit AFL, cricket, rugby, football and athletics teams.”

Home of the Pennant Hills Demons Junior AFL Club, the clubhouse upgrades will include new change rooms, umpires rooms, three female and male toilets, storage, two canteens and community and office space.

“The community has been calling for the upgrade for some time,” Mr Leeser added.

“Currently there are no proper facilities for female athletes and the existing clubhouse just isn’t fit for purpose.”

Mr Leeser has also promised $375,000 to upgrade the Dural Park clubhouse if the liberal party is re-elected at next week’s federal election. Pictured with Dural Rugby Club president Patrick O’Neill.

“The funding will enable the creation of a second storey for the clubhouse, improving facilities and creating a home for the sporting codes that call Dural Park home,” he said.
