A senior accountant has been busted breaching child protection supervision orders by using a series of email accounts to access porn sites, as well as using the alias “Champ0308”.

Daniel Ming, of Pymble, appeared at Hornsby Local Court on Wednesday where he pleaded guilty to two counts of failing to comply with reporting obligations.

According to documents tendered to court, Ming had been convicted of three counts of possessing child abuse material in 2016. As a result, Ming was placed on the Child Protection Register.

Part of his conditions is informing police of any email address used, any social media network site accessed, and certain areas and locations he attends.

But between the dates of April 19 and May 9, 2022, Ming failed to declare information regarding the email addresses and social network sites he used, a court heard.

On May 9, police searched Ming’s computers and electronic devices.

“During the inspection police uncovered information suggesting (Ming) was using the below emails and usernames to access adult pornography websites,” court documents state.

“Champ0308 (was used for his) Pornhub account, capable of sending/receiving messages and leaving comments on other users videos.”

According to court documents, Ming’s undeclared email addresses included menofsteel2006@yahoo.com, leewalden55@gmail.com and evandeaux@gmail.com.

“(Ming) also told the police he was regularly attending a church which had not been previously disclosed as per his reporting requirements,” agreed police facts state.

In court, Ming’s defence lawyer, Mr Nelson said his client entered an early guilty plea and these were the first times he breached his supervision orders.

“(But) these are quite serious offences … they are like the precursors (that) could lead to the other things he was originally charged with,” Mr Nelson said.

Magistrate Alexander Mijovich convicted Nelson on both counts and ordered him to pay a $6000 fine.

“I’ve stepped right away from a jail sentence because these are the first breaches,” Mr Mijovich said, adding these offences occurred some four years after Ming was first placed on the registry.

But Mr Mijovich warned Ming could face a jail sentence if he ever returned to the court again over future breaches.
