A 73-year-old woman died after being hit by a vehicle in Carlingford — the second pedestrian to be killed along a short stretch of Pennant Hills Rd this year.
Emergency services were called to the busy road, near Carlingford Court shopping centre, about 6pm on Saturday following reports a woman had been hit by a Mercedes 4WD.
Police said the crash happened about 100m north of the intersection with Carlingford Rd.
There is no pedestrian crossing at the location.
NSW Ambulance treated the woman at the scene and rushed her to Westmead Hospital but her condition deteriorated and she died in hospital that night.
The driver of the vehicle, a 27-year-old man, was taken to Ryde Hospital for mandatory testing and was uninjured.
A police investigation is underway.
