A young boy was treated for head injuries after he was struck by a falling tree branch in Sydney’s northwest.

Local residents reported NSW ambulance and the Toll Ambulance Rescue Helicopter rushing to the sceme at Boyd Ave, West Pennant Hills around 7.30pm on Monday night, as families flocked to the streets for Halloween trick or treating.

A NSW Ambulance spokeswoman told Newslocal paramedics were called to reports of a child struck by a tree branch.

“The boy was treated for a head injury by NSW Ambulance paramedics and a specialist medical team from the Toll Ambulance Rescue helicopter,” the spokeswoman said. “He was taken by road to the Children’s Hospital at Westmead for further treatment.”

Residents in West Pennant Hills took to social media after the Toll Ambulance helicopter landed in Campbell Park.

One said “ridiculous winds” hit the suburb while children were out for Halloween.
