Doyalson fatal crash: Man in his 50s dead, another injured in head-on

A man in his fifties has died and another has been seriously injured in a head-on crash between an SUV and a hatchback on a Central Coast highway.

A 56-year-old man has died and another man has been seriously injured in a head-on crash on the Central Coast last night, police say.

Emergency services were called to Pacific Highway at Doyalson about 8.30pm and found a northbound SUV and a southbound hatchback had collided in the southbound lanes.

Police say the driver of the hatchback died at the scene.

The driver of the SUV, a 52-year-old man, was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics and taken to John Hunter Hospital in a serious condition.

Officers from Tuggerah Lakes Police District established a crime scene.

Police warn traffic has been impacted and ask people to check www.livetraffic.com for the latest information.
