Two new all-day restaurants have opened in Cherrybrook, giving a boost to the area’s dining scene.

After a much-anticipated wait, The Brook Eatery and Whistling Sparrow both recently opened at Cherrybrook Village giving locals two new night-time spots.

The two restaurants sit just outside the shopping centre next door to each other and are open from 7am until 10pm daily — offering breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert and drinks.

Whistling Sparrow is the second hospitality venture from the family behind Panache Patisserie, located inside Cherrybrook Village.

Co-owner Varun Kapuria and his family have lived in the area for nearly 30 years and wanted to “stay part of the community and also offer something unique”.

“What we wanted to create was a boutique intimate space that has a bit of sophistication but still approachable, attentive and friendly,” Kapuria said.

Whistling Sparrow opened on March 3 with a menu featuring old favourites like a reinvented beef Wellington — which has become one of the most popular dinner dishes — as well as new trends like buddha bowls and turmeric lattes.

While there are plenty of healthy options, the family has kept their patisserie fans happy with a selection of indulgent desserts like ice cream tacos and their popular “beverage in a cone”.

Next door sits The Brook Eatery, the latest venture from the family behind popular Hornsby restaurant Blu Water Grill.

Owners Arthur and Tina Anton opened the doors to the 120-seat venue on March 19 and reservations for the opening weekend were quickly booked out.

The menu offers a selection of wood-fired pizzas and traditional mains as well as unique offerings like bacon and egg breakfast dumplings, lasagne spring rolls, and mojito cheesecakes.

Both restaurants have been warmly received by diners keen for new night time options.

“The experience so far has been phenomenal,” Kapuria said.
