A TRUCK driver trapped in his cab and unconscious has just been released by fire crews and is receiving urgent medical attention from three crews of paramedics and CareFlight medics after he smashed into a house at the junction of Glenhaven and Bannerman Rds in Kenthurst.
The accident happened at 2.30pm when the Turtle landscape supplies tipper truck appeared to clip the rear of a tree lopper’s trailer and lost control, coming to rest on its side and in the house.
NSW Ambulance Inspector Andrew McAlpine on the scene said the man had multiple limb fractures, facial injuries and a suspected head injury.
No-one in the house has been injured. CareFlight landed opposite Bannermans Restaurant where emergency crews are assessing the man before taking him for treatment.
Inspector McAlpine said the man had been removed from the truck wreckage before being treated on scene by Careflight and Intensive Care paramedics.
Paramedics were concerned that the man was unconscious and worked urgently to free him from his overturned truck, said the Inspector.
The 40-year-old was sedated and taken by ambulance to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition with the Careflight medical team onboard.
