An IT worker blew over the drinking limit while dropping off his children at Baulkham Hills.

Sreenivasulu Barmalli, 45, pleaded guilty to mid-range drink driving and disobeying a“no stopping” school zone and faced Parramatta Local Court on May 10.

Facts state Barmalli was pulled over outside Matthew Pearce Public School after parking in a no-stopping zone on Seven Hills Rd at about 8:20am on April 5.

Police facts tendered in court state traffic was busy, with several kids in the area.

Officers became suspicious after Barmalli appeared “slow and slurred” in speech with glazed eyes, according to facts.

Barmalli told police he was dropping his six-year-old child to school, while a 12-year-old was also seated in his car.

Barmalli blew a mid-range reading of 0.134 in a roadside breath test.

Police say due to a busy workload, they weren’t able to breath test Barmalli again for an hour – and blew a 0.100 reading at the station.

Barmalli’s driver’s licence was suspended on the spot.

Police say the incident was reported to Family and Community Services due to the serious nature of the matter.

Over the Easter weekend when Barmalli was arrested, police issued 326 infringements for drink driving offences in NSW, with 48 in Sydney’s north west alone.

Barmalli was sentenced to a six month community correction order and was disqualified from driving for three months.
