MATILDAS star Chloe Logarzo can’t believe how much football has changed for females since she first laced up her boots aged five.
She and her twin brother Vincent played for Carlingford Redbacks for more than six years, with Logarzo saying she was just one of two girls playing then.
She said the transformation in women’s football has been phenomenal, which is why she is excited about her new role as technical director of female football at Hornsby Heights FC.
Logarzo, who said she was gutted after Sydney FC lost the W-League final to Melbourne City on Sunday, is off to Portugal this week with the Matildas to compete in the Algarve Cup.
“Hornsby Heights FC is an amazing club and have one of the highest female enrolments in NSW with more than 200,” Logarzo, 23, said.
“When I started, I played mainly with boys until I was 16.
“My role at HHFC is a voluntary one and something I am very passionate about because I am also completing my coaching license.
“As an athlete I am lucky I can do an accelerated coaching license.”
“My plan is to map out a two-year plan for HHFC because the people who run the club are so dedicated and I love my job.” and I love to be involved with this community club.

Logarzo, who also played for North West Sydney Koalas, captained the Australian under-20 team in the at the 2013 AFF Women’s Championship in 2013 and has played for Sydney FC and clubs in the US, Sweden and Norway.
“Losing the grand final was a very tough one for us because we didn’t take our chances,” Logarzo said.
“If Lisa De Vanna had scored from the opportunity (which Logarzo created) in the first half, things would have been different.
“But that’s sport and I feel great which is surprising.’
Logarzo has a very busy schedule ahead of her, starting with this week’s two-wel camp in Portugal with the national side.
“I head off for camp on Tuesday in Portugal where the Matildas will play in the Algarve Cup and after that, we will have camps in Canberra and Perth before heading off to Jordan to play in the World Cup qualifiers,” said Logarzo, whose elder sister Koorin also played football at Carlingford Redbacks.
